What Can I Write On A Tombstone

A meeting with Francis Bégaudeau

presented his latest novel, The wound
true (Vertical)
Thursday, January 27, at the library of Saint-Lô

Turnip Pascale, director of the library reminded
the context of this meeting:
Bégaudeau Francis (Biography here ) sponsored the writing project entitled "Writing with, read to" of the 29 students in a class of second school Le Verrier .
This project, launched by the rector of Caen, was implemented by Professor of Humanities, Nicolas Guillemain and prepared in a writing workshop led by William Dress, at the library.

The idea was to write a new one, according to constraints, which, whatever one may think, encourage creativity.

Judge for yourself:
The fictional character was imposed Beatrice Merkel, German-born Parisian Councillor customer in a bank, right, and owner of a dog! (This last constraint has been retained by all students, proof that we want to talk about what we know)

The writer had previously received by mail the creations of students, had annotated to discuss with them this Thursday.
The goal? Play down to writing the report.
A view of Francis Bégaudeau " kill his character is an easy solution"

the evening he would lead a discussion after the screening at Cinémoviking, du documentaire réalisé par le collectif OTHON, "On est en démocratie" (ici)

"I was thinking about a small fictional narrative, which was later expanded to more accurate memories, on my holidays teenager in the small village of Saint-Michel-en-l 'Herm And ... people of St-Michel-en-The Herm does not understand what happened to their village! "

Among your characters truculent (Burt Tombeur, Greg Rake) and your female characters, some, some have they, have they acknowledged (s) ?
"These are real people grafts, it' a reconstructed village."

(Reading a passage: the portrait of Francis , Philippe Papin)

The narrator is it Francis, 15 year old who looks Bégaudeau or Francis?
"I do not agree entirely with reading contract based on an identification of the player character.

I had in mind Child Jules Valles and his writing in this narrative: I wanted to put in its place the narrator's 15 years and tell my reader, who is not fooled.
The little game " j'vois it from here" allows projection into the future while in the past.
can not divest the adult one has become. "

Is this a chronic '80s? "
While adolescents are makers of all things fashionable .
They abound in this story of defloration ( Canal +, Madonna, Burlington socks, bags Dorothy bis) as well as Expressions own at a time (" J'te not tell" ) A round table between friends allowed me to list a dozen, what makes this story a brief oral expressions.

other hand, it means " being of its time" ? At the time of the war in Lebanon, in this village of 2,000 ha in winter (summer 5000) how many were " in the 80s?
A decade is not inhabited by anyone. For example in music, we listened to Bob Marley, which belonged to the previous decade, this was not the case of old-"50 years"-or even mine or my narrator, a fan of Punk Rock (years 76)
None of us was not living the same time. "

Adolescence: age of all the excesses?

"Unquestionably.
Politically, I was very politicized early (communist tendency Leninist). As I admired the vigilantes and that for me, left, personified justice, I was at the left of the left. In a brain
fifteen years, all the lexicons collide: political passion and amorous passion.
Although education was a very feminist, the goal for a boy of fifteen, and my character is to make the figure-slept with more girls as possible, this macho attitude is actually a weak position . Even if love
, Which falls from the sky appears as a huge "Luna Park", the lovers' state is a state of discomfort, we regret a little peace before.
is a book without parents, a space created for fellowship teenager. "

The humor is there for you an ingredient?
" This is not a necessary ingredient, c is a central topic.
Basically, the literature is about the humor: I am against this cliché is that literature has something to do with pain.
Even if there are lyrical passages or tragic, I found it odd to write a book on adolescence without humor. "

After this nice interview and the presentation of the friendliest, it remains to read this novel whose end is very surprising.
