Throughout the festival, you could go to the bookstore maintained by publishers, booksellers Wake editions.
This Parisian publishing house founded by Jacques Goursaud Ronan Tallec and Helene de Givry explores the literature since 2002 French (Victor Segalen, Valery Larbaud Charles Baudelaire) and foreign (Joseph Conrad, Yasunari Kawabata, Herman Melville, Anton Chekhov) with the aim to rediscover the essential texts, rare or exhausted.
Wake was originally an association of ten students of literature, history and philosophy, literature enthusiasts. Face the problem of unavailability of texts they wanted, they agreed to say that the works were sometimes forgotten by negligence or by an unfortunate accident. That's where a project was born which is éditiorial give new books to read that are not found evidence of originality, intelligence, fantasy and humor. Their decision to publish texts is nothing but a result of systematic favorites, mostly from texts read by chance or should I say, luckily.
The proposed works (51 so far) are very well made, both as regards the choice of texts that the quality of manufacture. For my part, being very visual, I love the covers, decorated with simple arabesques of color.
These are editions that are worth talking to them and we salute their great project. Note In 2009, Wake editions are also beginning to distribute some free titles from their catalogs in digital format under a Creative Commons license. A week after the festival in Mind Books, we are at the balance sheet, and we are proud to say that success was the appointment!
More than 600 people were displaced during the four days, which is a nice number for a first edition. We wish to thank everyone who came hoping that the performances they have attended their rained. We also want to say a big thank you to the volunteer team, which has been involved throughout the festival period and without which events such as ours can not take place.
I also want to emphasize that two events particularly well. This is the Dance at the page and Roman today. You were indeed likely to move on Saturday 21 to enjoy an evening of skits in reading and music and participate in dance Guy Hagege, Xavier Ehretsmann along the decks and Benoit Delbecq on keyboards. Many people have also moved on Thursday to listen to 19 readings of ten French novels published recently and enjoy the sound of the cello Xavier Phillips.

What Is The Role Of Surfactant In Respiration
read Romans: The brave little tailor Eric Chevillard
The brave little tailor Eric Chevillard will be part of the texts read Thursday, November 19 at the event entitled "The Novel Today." Enter a world of fairy tales unusual ...
Here's what we said back cover of the book: "It is believed clear of such nonsense, to speak frankly. Childhood is behind us. And the tale of the brave little fly-killer is an old story. Now here is a writer claims the author suddenly become aware and responsible is lacking in the latter, carelessly brought forth by the popular imagination, subject to all the vicissitudes of the oral tradition and then gathered in this deplorable state by the Brothers Grimm in the early nineteenth century. He has ambitions. He intends to raise the frail character who is hero to the status of mythical figure. "
You'll understand that there is irony and even Socratic irony in this novel. A perfect knowledge of his enemies is the basis for good self-knowledge. But is there not a paradox in the nature of the enemy here designated as suggested by Anne Roche? ( http://www.fabula.org/colloques/document1039.php ) "The book is presented as a brave pamphlet intended to demolish ... who exactly?" Do we not also find here self-mockery and sarcasm?
Before going further in the analysis, revise the first classics of our childhood with the diegesis of the story: the little tailor earns his honor by killing seven flies with one blow on his jam sandwich. He builds a belt on which he marks "Seven at one blow" and goes on an adventure to meet her destiny. Then gradually, he kills giants, boars and married a beautiful princess!
That in a nutshell the story that we Chevillard proposes to review with him. However, do not believe that you will be assisting at a new version of "modernized" in history, albeit embellished by incessant digressions who mock the heroism of the little tailor (its size becomes an object of derision, as well as his confrontation with the giant, he is a power-hungry who's goal to rule the world). In this rewrite rules where the story are deliberately obliterated, as any reader you will be taken to the party. In fact, you probably know that this is the irony is most effective: "Everything is an ironist reader pretentious when he gazes" (Valery).
However, Chevillad seems to deal more to him of his status, the author, as ours, for us, readers of his book. Recalling that the brothers Grimm have only compile folk tales and transcribing oral language to written language (which is not very complicated for we know how to write), he wants to finally give a true author to this tale: it will be he ... So the writer also becomes a character in the story. While self-deprecating or self-celebration? You decide.

To discover the world of Eric Chevillard, I suggest you take a look at his blog. This will help identify the likely character.

read Romans: The heart sewn Carole Martinez
"My name is Soledad. I was born in this country where the body dry, with backwaters unable to hug and great hands useless. "
These are the first words from the novel by Carole Martinez extracts of which will read Thursday, November 19 from 20.30.
Abstract:
the heart of Spain, at the end of nineteenth century, Frasquita receives from his mother a box containing a gift for the person who opens it. Frasquita This proves to be the one to sew. She wipes the sublime, but also sews things together, the men resumed frayed. From Indeed, it has a reputation in his village a magician or witch. Played and lost her husband at a cockfight and condemned by the village to the adultery, Frasquita is doomed to wander through Andalusia that peasant revolts begin to fire and sword, followed by her children also provided - or burdened - of mysterious gifts ... Fleeing
ever southward, spreading behind her love and human folly, it will stop finally in a village in North Africa. There his talent as a seamstress and spells around his family will find the newest, Soledad, a narrator, and the hand of appeasement ...
This tale, sometimes wonderful, sometimes fantastic, is an ode to maternal love and brotherhood, to which we adhere with the unique style of C. Martinez and her characters that she was able to make complex and engaging.
Preview:
'Listen, my sisters! Listen to this rumor that fills the night! Listen ... the sound of mothers! Sacred things whisper in the dark kitchen. At bottom of old pots, in the smell of spices, recipes and magic meet. The silent sorrows of our mothers are gagged their heart. Their complaints have increased in soups: tears of milk, blood, tears spicy, salty, sweet. Unctuous tears at the palace of men! '
The heart sewn in the press:
Ouest France - Georges Guitton (May 28, 2007)
"This gives a magnificent novel series of amazing stories and characters (...)."
Nouvel Observateur - Anne Crignon (May 22, 2008)
"Well above the fray, Carole Martinez has an incredible talent. A style that enchants from the first pages, and a hero driven by his destiny to end Baroque heart of Spain's nineteenth century. "

Events: Journey to the End of China looking for lost Felix, exhibition
Throughout the festival's Books in mind, you can see, the Couvent des Cordeliers, the photographic travel book called Trip to China in search of Felix lost .
In fact, you do not know perhaps, but a few months ago our international star, nay the world, reading aloud, I mean of course Felix Libris, has gone .. . That fans can rest assured, we have found since.
That's how it happened: The
June 3, 2009, Felix Libris cancel several tours in China and disappears without any sign of life. On 1 July 2009, when the world was still no news Felix, James Lear, a young filmmaker and photographer, decides to leave in the old neighborhoods in ruins from Shanghai to the foothills of the Himalayas to find the missing star. It searches for two long months ... in vain.
The photographs bear witness to this long journey through China in search of Felix lost. I warn you right now, ladies, you will find in this show any pictures of your idol, not even dressed (which I know well, do you only moderately interested anyway). Maybe you can find, however, added to the aesthetic quality and remarkable photographs, other interest that will make you forget for a moment Felix ...
In this regard, let us (or we pour out) a few moments on James Lear, filmmaker and photographer early if any. His professional career began in 2005 when, aged only 17 years old, he was hired as chief operator of Werner Herzog on the set of Grizzly Man . Then in 2006, he directed his first documentary in Siberia, intimate experience of the shaman , before devoting himself to the vast multimedia work around Felix Libris. Close friend of Felix, James felt it his duty to find her and made a point of honor to find him. Which he did. But you'll have to wait for a future post the story of the emotional reunion and the many pitfalls that James Lear met on his way.
For those who did not have time to admire this magnificent exhibition during the festival, a second chance will be given at the Centre Universitaire Malesherbes, 108 Boulevard Malesherbes, Paris 17e, November 24 to December 18, 2009.

I recently discovered the very interesting blog LutinCapuche , through my research on Flash and actionscript to the website where I work now (final straight, it is soon over, I'll tell you very soon ...).

For those who are familiar with and interested, you can even download the source here .
